When visiting us here at Tyrrells you will be greeted by one of our experienced office and nursing team who are here to ensure the smooth day to day running of the practice. As they are all horse owners themselves, they are on hand to help with any of our clients’ queries.
Tina Pankhurst MBA, BA (Hons)
Practice Manager
Tina joined our team in 2017 and has been a familiar voice to many clients during her eight years as our lead receptionist. Recently promoted to Practice Manager, she brings extensive experience in veterinary administration, having previously worked at Cambridge University Veterinary Hospital. She has also completed a Certificate in Veterinary Practice Management and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA). In her current role, Tina oversees the day-to-day operations of the practice, supports all areas of the team, and manages our practice accounts. Outside of work, she enjoys riding her mare, Phoebe, and spending quality time with her family.
Zoe Brown
Veterinary Admininstrator
Zoe joined our team in September 2025 and quickly became a friendly and reliable voice for our clients in her role as Practice Administrator. She brings a diverse background to the practice, having previously worked as an eventing groom, a saddler, and within NHS administration, experience that has built a strong foundation in customer care, organisation, and communication.
In her role, Zoe is one of the main points of contact for the practice, handling client queries and ensuring everyone receives clear, efficient support.
Outside of work, Zoe enjoys spending time with her two horses, Otto, her 7-year-old Connemara, and Mango, her 6-year-old Irish Sport Horse, whom she competes with in British Eventing.
Ella Pankhurst BSc(Hons)
Administration & Veterinary Assistant 
Ella joined the team in May 2025. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Equine Performance Science and has a strong interest in equine health, behaviour, and performance, as well as years of experience working with horses on a variety of yards and environments.
In her role as Administration and Veterinary Assistant, she helps with the day-to-day running of the practice, both in the office and on the yard. From managing bookings and client records to supporting the team with hands-on horse care, she enjoys the variety the role brings and being part of a supportive, horse-focused environment.
Outside of work, Ella spends time with her horse Wizard, and her cat Paddy.

Maggie Godman RVN
Equine Veterinary Nurse
As head of our nursing team Maggie works closely with our veterinary surgeons both in the clinic and when out visiting horses on the yard, assisting and overseeing all types of veterinary procedures. Maggie is also responsible for keeping our pharmacy fully stocked and maintained with everything our vets might need. She began working at Tyrrells in 2014 and completed her training to become a registered veterinary nurse in the summer of 2022. Previously she studied a BTEC Level 3 in Horse Management going on to work at North Brook End Stud gaining experience in all aspects of breeding and young stock management. Maggie owns a sports horse mare Clarissa who she is producing to event and springer spaniels Freddie and Louie who keep her busy with their endless supply of energy.
Louisa Taylor RVN 
Veterinary Nurse
Louisa joined the team here at Tyrrells in October 2023 after 9 years working in small animal veterinary practice. Louisa qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2018, she also previously trained as a veterinary care assistant and studied a Level 2 Diploma in horse care. Louisa works closely alongside our veterinary surgeons and nurses to assist in the clinic and out visiting horses on yards with a variety of veterinary procedures. She also assists in the office with admin and reception work.
Louisa enjoys hacking out and having fun with her Irish Sports Horse, McCoy, who she has owned since a 5-year-old. She also has a beautiful young cat called Tilly.
Shirley Swanson BA (Hons)
Veterinary Administrator
Shirley joined the practice in 2011 having previously worked in a variety of management roles. Her main responsibilities involve handling insurance claims and liaising with insurance companies on behalf of our clients. Additionally, she has the sometimes arduous task of keeping our fleet of vehicles on the road so our vets can continue to make it to their visits. She has her own TB x Arab gelding Harry and together they enjoy all riding club activities but particularly team endurance competitions. Outside of work when Shirley is not riding or volunteering for Cambridge and District Riding club, Shirley can be found out competing in local triathlons and races!
